Terry Korn Demonstrates Inside-Out Turning

June 27, 2005

The individual blanks are glued, taped and clamped together, then mounted on the lathe.

Terry warns us of the importance of having the tail of the pipe clamp spinning away from the lathe operator.

The outside starts to take shape.

Finishing the outside, what will become the inside.

The individual spindles are split apart.

After reversing and remounting, the second pahse of turning begins.

Final shaping, with the turned inside showing through.

Terry was kind enough to share the wisdom of his mistakes.

The appearance prior to reversing and remounting.
